Flashback Friday – Favourite Toy…
I found this week’s theme very difficult.
I mean, so much of what photographs end up being taken are tied up in what the photographer values & appreciates.
As a result of my mum’s love of the outdoors, horse riding & holidaying we don’t have any/many photos of me & my toys. I wasn’t a doll girl & Mum certainly never would have whipped out the camera to snap a pic of me playing in the street with the neighbours or playing PacMan, Simple Simon, Speak & Spell or Commodore 64 games.
So, what I’ve got is this…

a photo of my first ride on Yalunga (named after my cousins’ shetland pony). Yalunga was black & white with a patent leather saddle & real stirrups.
If you rocked on him wildly he would begin to gallop jerkily down the hallway & as older kids we had ace fun racing him up & down the hall.
Then, one day his red stirrup leather broke. Non “fixed” it with some green kitchen string but I have to say I could never look at him in the same way again.

What a great story Kirsty, to start with I thought it was going to be the box in the background. How many times have we bought toys for our kids and they get more fun out of the packaging.
