I've had these pics kicking around since I made the big girl her pencil case last year.

I thought the "how to" might be of use.

I always buy my "magic disolving stuff" from Bustle & Bows. They know what I mean when I ask for that but you might want to call it Aquasol or water soluble plastic if you're asking for it in store.

This is not only useful for embroidery but I imagine many other crafty pursuits. I saw a similar product used to create a super fluffy critter on a blanket recently.

You can pick up the PDF How to - Embroidery on dark fabric here.

Great tutorial Kirsty. Thanks for the reminder on how to use aquasol. I'd forgotten all about it after Brown Owls. I think I'm going to embrace embroidery more this year!

Ah, Kirsty, I think you are reading my mind! Just today I was reading on another blog about an new embroidery project and I thought to myself, how awful that one is limited to white materials for embroidering... and here you go showing me how I can do it on darker materials. Fantastic. I just got some chocolate brown pillowcases and would love to embelish them and now I can!

This is awesome! Especially after Lolly's embroidery week. I have so many patterns from her that would look great on jeans, thanks! I'll be linking as well.

I have never heard of Aquasol either, but it looks brilliant. (And who wouldn't want another excuse to pop into Bustles & Bows?!). The tutorial is fabulous - great photos and very easy to follow.

    Hi, Kirsty! Great tutorial!!

If you can't find aquasol readily available, you can also use Solvy (available in most sewing stores) for the same results.

I LOVE that little pencil pattern! It's perfect!
