Creative 702

The “dusk shoot” was last night. I think it went fine, we’ll wait & see what arrives on email for approval.

I’ve bought myself a bit of time as the first open isn’t until next Saturday. So today I plan to work on a little bit of stitching just for me. It will be worked in DMC 702 which is just about my favourite colour at the moment.

Embroidery on thrifted/opped sheeting.

I was lucky enough to pick up a big pile of hospital weight sheets from the Op Shop a couple of years ago & I’m still working my way through it.

Thanks all for playing along so nicely last week & I look forward to catching up with you.

Don’t forget to pop in & add your link if you’re playing along this week.

Just as an aside…learning to touch type was the very best thing I ever did.

i adore the shade of green kirsty and can't wait to see what you do with it. good luck with the house. and just as an aside i am trying to teach myself to touch type and i am absolute rubbish at it. i keep peeping at the keyboard instead of watching the screen. need to employ the teatowel over the hands trick. have a good day

lol about the touch typing – it is pretty great – but remember learning…?! Remember thinking that you'd never be able to do it, that it was all too hard…?! AND did you know, that is actually a myth that the QWERTY keyboard was invented to slow typists down…?! Obviously that was thought of by someone having issues with their touch typing.

I'm not usually a big fan of green, but that shade is lovely.

So happy to hear you have a 'bit of time' to do something for you. Goodness knows it's hard to find under normal circumstances. Green is a great colour and it is the new black after all. Happy embroidering!!

that's so funny Kirsty…I just posted my creative space, and noticed the colour of your thread is similiar to the one on my sewing machine in my photo.

I love being able to touch type – but I still think faster than I can type, which can cause a few brain-farts!

Oooh, you mean there is a different way of typing than just mashing my fists on the keyboard and hoping that words emerge?!

That green is the EXACT colour of the shirt I'm wearing today. What tasteful women we are.

PS unrelated but I wanted to tell you that thanks in part to your inspiration I'm back into running and getting ready to do the run for the kids in two weeks. I know that's like your normal morning run but it's just so thrilling to be moving again. Freeeeedom!

Now you have me thinking. Embroidered hospital sheets should be part of basic patient care. Although I quite like the notion of aiding recuperation/alleviating 'almost well' boredom by handing over a needle and DMC 702…

Wow, what an amazing find that must have been! I wouldn't mind stumbling upon some vintage French bedsheets/linen myself (not much chance of that in the Aussie Oppy's). Of course, I'm sure the embroidery will be gorgeous, and even better that it's just for you – can't remember that last time I did that…
