My creative space...

Creative Space Blanket

The weather has well & truly turned in Melbourne. There's a crispness in the air & I've turned my thoughts to keeping warm. I'm mucking around with an old blanket & some Perle 8.

I'm hoping to have something to show by the end of Easter.

There have been a couple of minor hiccups which may foil my plans. I've got one kid with the vomits & an over indulge on the download limit which has left me on the go SLOW. I won't be able to pop around this week but I'll look forward to catching you all next week.

Visit last week's favourite space here
.

Don't forget to pop in & add your link if you're playing along this week.

I love the colour of you thread, I’m sure you have some stunning plan to pretty up that blanket. I hope your little one is well soon and the rest of the family escapes it so that you have lots of creative time over Easter.

Hope the little one gets better soon ~ no fun having the vomits, especially at Easter!
I'm still have the server problems so anyone one bigpond won't be able to pop by.

Our limit usually goes about the 15th of every month, but come around the 1st and we are raring to go. I have 14 days now to look at blogs before the wastelands descend. xxNick

I hope your kid get well v soon, Kirsty! I can understand how painful it is when the download limit is running low and being SLOW. Been there done that! You take it easy and enjoy your Easter break! X

Loving that colour again!
Hope your little one feels better for easter!
The download limit is always a frustrating thing!

Doh, I hope all at yours are happy & healthy again soon... but you are such a tease...! Waiting anxiously for your latest stroke of awesome...

I'm sorry you've got a sick little one on your hands :( I hope it's all better soon, and you get out to enjoy that crisp air.
Perhaps the universe is giving you a little time off the computer...just a little bit of time off LOL.

The weather is changing in Sydney too. Getting slightly cooler and I cannot wait for winter! I just love wearing warm cloths:)

Hope your little one will get better soon!

I loved the pincushion so I am looking forward seeing what are you going to make next!!!

Have a great Easter!

That thread is gorgeous! I know what you mean about the going over the download limit. We've got 120 gig and still manage to end up on caveman internet the last few days before roll over!

Terrific colour! I love so much of what you make and can't see what this turns into!

The thread colour is such a beautiful blue. Enjoy working with it! Hope everyone is better for the Easter weekend.

Don't we all just hate download limits? I'm surprised they don't simply send you an email saying "click here to pay an extra ten/twenty/whatever bucks to get yourself back to normal speed for the rest of the month". I'm sure they'd make a motza, and we'd all have the internet speeds we need!

Love that blue. Looking forward to seeing what you create. Hoping your child recovers soon to enjoy Easter :-)

dillpickle said...

A kid with the vomits is no fun at all. I hope your small person recovers quickly!

Sarah said...

Hope your little one feels better soon. Happy Easter :)

Melanie said...

You have my sympathies. We had one with the vomits here last weekend. So far no other family members have succumbed - hope you are as lucky :)

Bec said...

As the wearer of a super projectile vomitus last night I share your pain. Hope the kiddo is better soon. Happy Easter and Happy Crafting.

Hope your little one gets better soon Kirsty.
Maybe the download limit situation can be a positive - force you to slow down a bit over the easter hols?
Anyway, have a wonderful break... looking forward to seeing what creative goodness is made from that blue!

Brenda said...

Hope the vomiting stops soon and you can get on with your new project.

Clair said...

Oooh, I don't envy the little one (or the one who has to take care of them!) Hope all is well in your household soon x

Liesl (Hoppo Bumpo) said...

Oh, no ... the vomits are the pits. We had that here at our place earlier in the week. Hope everyone is tip top by the weekend.

Have a lovely Easter, Kirsty.

Oh yes, we're sending some chilly weather your way from Canberra too. Brrrr, would love to do a patchwork blanket piece, ahhhhh, love Posie

The weather has turned here in Auckland too. Perfect for sitting under a blanket and doing something gorgeous with it. Can't wait to see the finished result. Huge sympathies heading your way on the vomit front. There's a bug going around here too and both of mine had it last week. Fingers crossed it is over and done with soon. x

I adore that colour blue and am looking forward to seeing what you do - as always!

And that popcorn pin cushion was seriously awesome stuff. I feel my recipient will be jipped in comparison especially cos it's my first sewing effort.

Happy Easter Kirsty and thanks for being so darn cool! :)

Love that shade of blue! I'm loving these Melbourne cooler days (being 8 1/2 months pregnant it's a lot more pleasant!) and it's great weather to craft in. Hope you and yours feel better soon. Take care..

That's a great blue. Looking forward to seeing what you're up to again.

On the flip side of the world, it's getting warmer and warmer here every day, and I am thinking about staying cool. No blankets for me, thank you! :)

Gorgeous blue! I love old blankets too. Can't wait to see what you make of them. Something fabulous and creative no doubt!

Mel said...

Ugh we are all fighting snot stuff here. Probably not as bad as vomiting though.

I just found a remnant of wool/cashmere on the table at Tesutti (in Sydney) last weekend and wondered what to use to stitch around it's edge. Is Perle thread the way to go with that?

play.nurture.grow said...

itching to see what you are stitching up - gorgeous work and enjoy you're easter break!

I'm going to get to some stitching over Easter I think. In fact it may be time to splash out on some new DMC colours. I'm still working through the stash I collected when I was making friendship bands in the 80's.

Would you like me to send a casserole over? Over-indulgence on download limits and that painful SLOW are the pits. Still, excellent excuse to just hop to and get on with that blanket embroidery stuff...

Belinda Saville said...

'My Creative Space'...what a great idea! I'm in :-) Lovely blog, look forward to seeing what you create with the pretty blue cotton. Regards, Belinda :-)

Sally said...

Hope your little one feels better soon and that you don't all end up with it this long weekend. Awful - vomitty sick is one of the worst.
Good luck with the blanket - you should try to stay off the computer completely since it is going so slow - imagine how much of your blanket you'll get done.
So what are you doing hanging around reading this drivel??? ...nick off and get going on your blanket before there is more spew to clean up.

Carolyn said...

Hope the young one just has a 24 hour thing. While your getting out the blankets, I'm getting out my shorts.

I can remember a long time ago when I was picked as the girl with the prettiest smile, in 7th grade ... I got the same feeling when I saw your favorite for last weeks Creative Space ..Thanks!

I just love the effect that Pearl Cottons give to any work, wether it be embroidery or quilting. It's a beautiful shade your using, Anna Maria Horner has just put up a lovely tutorial about it!

Thanks for the inspiration and for finding out it wasn't anything to do with dyeing but pincushions...

...it was lovely. :O)
