This week in the space I've got the beginnings of my long term (very) quilt plan. I've had this idea kicking around in my head for ages but have put off making a start because I know how long the whole thing will take me.
Time to dive in ... rolls of brown paper rescued from under a nice Edwardian that was being renovated, huge t square Opped for $5 & my quilting ruler.
My favourite space this week wasn't on last week's list but I'm obsessed with her space & thinking about it constantly...
the shed
Last week was our biggest creative space yet. It's great to have so many players but I'm trying out a new visiting "system" this week. We'll see how it goes...
Don't forget to pop in & add your link if you're playing along this week.

sorry i will get it right next week!!!! sorry !!! x
That sounds like a huge quilt project you have on the table : ) Loved your knitting post yesterday too .
I’d love to find a big t square at the op shop – I refuse to pay the price for new!
I started a new visiting system last week. I visited all of the spaces “multiple of nine” spaces and all of my favourites of course! It worked well, I didn’t have to stress that I wasn’t going to be able to get to everyone and I didn’t spend heaps of time just looking at all the names wondering who to visit next!
I'm really excited about the prospect of a Kirst quilt.
looking forward to watching the progress. xo
intrigueing as always. i will watch with interest for further clues. i loved your shoulder blankets and I think that two little members of this houshold would live the idea of hands free for PS3 activity
Thrifting from under a house - that's pretty good!
sounds intriguing and i'm sure you'll enjoy the whole process. my fav part is the quilting, i do it by hand and totally lose myself..just LOVE it!
Loving that photo!
Good luck with the LONG term project, sounds interesting.
Ooh I can't wait to watch this unfold...And good luck with the visiting hours, I made it through half the list last week, your quite popular these days :)...
Last week was the biggest space ever?! Wow! I didn't play last week because by the time I got home I didn't want to play 'life' let alone anything else, but I adore that people love sharing their spaces & creative pursuits here, with you, with us!
I posted last night just so I would be assured of playing!
I can only imagine how gorgous your quilt will be - I have one on my 'to do list' but it really is the easiest quilt I could find... even having said that, the chances of me actually getting around to it are negligable!
Thank you Kirsty, for being such a fabulous meme host - without this particular outlet each week, I wouldn't have found many a lovely blogger. :)
I love your quilt projects, they are indeed wonderful. I also love your Aunty Pat as well, she is lovely and a knitting calender- where did you find such a perfect thing?
Oh its that exciting time when you get all the tools at the ready! Look forward to seeing what happens next.
Seeing what you can do in a short space of time I can't wait to see what a long-term project will entrail. The blanket wraps looked great. Very handy! {so to speak}
Wow, how many gazillion people playing?? Congratulations!! Love Posie
I'd bet my bottom dollar that this long term quilt plan does not even slightly involve a wisp of brown yarn.
Oh long term projects can be addictive in the first few weeks. Happy planning x
Oh just got an email to link Ros's Grace Designs link - her amazing desert bar, must see everyone!! She's 9 months pregnant & at doctor's appointment, but still keen to play, don't you love her!! Love Posie for Rosalind at Grace Designs
I'm intrigued by your quilt project, I hope we get to see it's progress. Yep it's a big day on Thursday, good luck with the new system! x
Love long term quilt projects. Specially if they are the pick up, put down variety. Look forward to seeing your quilt unfold xox
Hi Kristy, goo dluck with the quilt, yes they are a lot of work -looking fwd to hearing more...
There's nothing better than the start of a quilt (I usually lose my way unfortunately).
This week I've been dyeing wool and getting ready to move from Kakadu to Hobart.
There's something consoling about a long term quilt project. Hope you're enjoying the process!
Think of all of the future memories that will be captured in the stitches! Sometimes I think the anticipation and preparation is half the fun.
OOps sorry Kirsty I have accidently linked to an old Creative space post of mine and had no idea how to change it? I added myself again so that people don't think I'm caught in perennial ground hog day. hee hee. x
Wow! That shed is just gorgeous! How cool would it be to have a little spot like that just for yourself!
Good luck with the quilt plans too!
Looking forward to seeing where the brown paper fits in.....I got 'lost' following that link & have only just made it back to add my link.....must go back for more ohhhhing & ahhhing
I'm intrigued at the thought of a quilt design which requires the use of a giant T square! I have one which I scored for free - a cast off from my Dad (I think he knows I have it, hehehe) which he scored as a cast off from an engineering student classmate over 40 years ago.
good luck with the quilt, I've got a long term quilt project in my head too related to my family history. It will be my first quilt asides from cushions so slowly does it :)
Can't wait to see more! I bet a Kirst quilt will be spectacular. I love playing along with creative space but I don't want you to feel compeled to visit and comment and then it becomes a burdon on you and it is all meant to be fun and we don't want to get in trouble from aunty Pat if you don't get your homework done
Love the photos you take for your creative space. It makes it so interesting. Am thinking that I may have to get my husband to teach me a little bit about creative photography.

One day I am going to learn how to quilt.
Great op shopping/finds. Very exciting starting a big project. Hope it all goes according to plan!
The commitment involved to start a quilt always amazes me ( I guess I'm too fickly a girl for that!!). Looking forward to seeing it progress....
Hi, I thought I would join in and have some fun. I can't wait to see what you are going to come up with!
shall watch with bated breath ( will I pass out ...will it be that long ?? ) for your quilt to evolve!
x PJ x
That shed, her blog. Oh my goodness. I totally get why you're thinking about it all the time. It is like a grown up girls cubby.
Look forward to watching your quilt progress. You always keep the intrigue factor high.
pretty photo!
anything quilt sounds like a long time in the making to me {have never tried to make one, but would love to one day!}
I loved the light shining through the roll of paper and there is something so right on about brown paper...happy quilting, xdash
Sometimes the starting and planning are just as fun. Even if you know it'll take forever, you still need to start, don't you - with one small step.
Great photo!
i think i left a piece of my heart at that shed link. It's beautiful, thanks for sharing. xoxox
Brown paper eh! Can't wait to see what your next project will be!
look forward to seeing this baby evolve.
I agree with Tinniegirl!
(i used to look after an Artemis in the Greek Islands!)
I made my first baby blanket/quilt the other day-i really enjoyed making it :) loved reading your post about knitting with your Auntie Pat- sounds like a lovely way to spend an afternoon.
I'm always looking for a t-square in the thrift shops, and I never score! Looks like you've got something big brewing...
looking forward to seeing your quilt design
Goodness, its not even lunchtime and there are 73 links! I think we would all rather see your beautiful craft, than think you were spending precious time madly trying to rush round looking at everyone's posts.
I'm looking forward to seeing the start of the quilt - I'm sure its going to be something amazing.
Would love to hear about your visiting system! I have not a chance in heck of visiting even half the list, so my current 'system' is favourites (who are pretty much in my feed reader anyway) and then a number of essentially random choices.
how exciting to start a new quilt. Haven't done one for a few years now.
Love the shed, very inspiring.
Cathy x
Hi there
I've been visiting all these wonderful creative spaces for a few weeks now, and decided to finally join in and link to my own! Now I'm off to visit everyone else!
Jill
good luck with the quilt
I look forward to seeing your quilt in progress. I always make great progress on the top, and then it sits and waits (sometimes for 5 years and still counting) for me to get around to the next bit.
Mmmmmm - know exactly what you mean about putting off the big projects. Good luck with it!
Oooh a quilt, how lovely! Sometimes a big project is great to start....something to sink your teeth into ;-) I only got half way thru the list last week but it is nice to see what everyone is up to and I have met a couple of new friends just thru your Creative Space so thankyou for all the hard work you put in for us xx
Quilts scare me. Sometime I forget they are small pieces assembled. I look forward to yours unfolding.
Really looking forward to seeing your long term project.
Wow! I love a huge project...can't wait to see what it turns into. Loved your knitting post. Made me smile :)
I buggered up my link on Mr Linky! Is there a way to fix it up??
Ohh, very intruiging... And, thats a great photo by the way!
It's nice to have at least one long term project on the go. That way if you somehow manage to finish all the other things in progress and inspiration is nowhere to be found (I know, unlikely in your case, very likely in mine!!), there's always something to do!
Can't wait to see what the long term project is...Mine is a Joseph's Coat...that reminds me, I should actually do some of it!
love the shoulder blanket. it looks cozy.
Hi Kirssy- my forst time playing along with your creative space, but happy to be part of illustrious company for once...even with my beginners project... happy thursday!
Oh you are not kidding that shed is TO DIE FOR! Just goes to show size does not matter! Going back to take a longer drool ...
Great to be able to see so much creativeness all in the one spot - thanks for organising!
second time ever doign this! hehe off to have a browse at all these other talented women
Will be looking for updates on your quilting project. Thanks or the link to 'the shed'. PS.. ever thought of renting out Auntie Pat.. Loved your previous post.
thanks for sharing 'the shed'. i love it, reminded me how creative one gets when working in small spaces. i once lived in the 'official' smallest house in somerset when living in england. i loved it, so cute :)
I love Thursdays! being a newbie to the blogging world its the day I get most excited for, lol, its the day I have the most views! Thank you so much for setting this up! It also gives me a fantastic opportunity to meet other craft-sters and it just opens a window into the crafting world I have long wanted to be a part of!

Hey Kirsty, it's OK not to visit every space every week - how in the world would you get that quilt done? :)
Visits to your blog are always a feast & that shed is amazing - although too little to do my craft in! ;)
wooohooo, girlie! Let's have a quiltathon.
PS I love the knitting stories xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Wow, can't wait to here more about your quilt project, sounds very exciting indeed. I just love that shed too! I would love to have a little shed of my own!
good luck on your new project
Last blog's Prince ronel
If only I had hauled my old sewing machine over to Switzerland with me. Looove quilts.

thanks for hosting. I cant stand your posts where I cant see what you are doing. Its torture....:-)
Excited to see your quilt project, nothing wrong with long term plans!
Sounds like a really exciting project - look forward to seeing it develop! Great pic :)
I know what you mean about procrastinating long term projects because of the work involved. I try to break it down into smaller steps and sometimes that helps.
Can't wait to see what transpires!
That shed is wicked. My Dad's shed would look way better decorated like that!
Wow, absolutly love that shed, such an amazing make over!
Good luck with the new big project, beginning is always half of the work :)
Oh, I guess we are going to have to wait along time to see the results then! But all good things come to those that wait, or so they say! Yes, just discovered tales of a Junkaholic too....beautiful!!
thanks again for hosting such a great meme week by week. it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. its just such a lovely way to share with people the things that we are all making this week.
and i am always a bit astounded that you manage to get round to everybody's spaces. its a great idea to try a new visiting system - hope it goes well!
I recently started a fairly easy quilt (it's a cheat quilt basically) and that is taking quite a while and it's not even a proper quilt! Good luck!
Looking forward to seeing your quilt.
And that creative space is amazing! I want one just like it!
Can't wait to see more of your quilt. I admire you, I don't think I will ever have the patience!
Thanks for the link to 'tales of junkaholic' at a glance it looks gorgeous ... I'm looking forward to exploring it more.
Oh my !! No.132 this week. No wonder so many people are visiting it's lovely to see so many creative people in one place.
Good luck with that quilt. I never seem to finish the BIG projects. I seem to be too easily distracted.
Best of luck with your long term quilt project - I look forward to seeing it some time!
I love the look of that paper - can't wait to see how your quilt progresses - I love your creative space posts. It's lovely to see what everyone's up to! Thanks for sharing, Lucy xox
Hello, my second attempt at playing along, my most recent blog post is not so much my creative space but the end result of my creativity, the patchwork wallpapering , the painting , the home made bed linen, the DIY gilded bed , the upholstered chair , all made by my own fair hand and i'm very proud of how it looks and what to show it off .
I love brown paper, earthy and crisp. If this is to be a long term quilting project, I hope you post progress shots! I am still yet to try quilting... inspire me! ;-)
Good luck with your project! I'm looking forward to see how it progresses. Thant shed so inspiring!
Good luck with your very long term project! I think I would be too impatient for such a thing. Happy Thursday. Melinda xo
Can´t wait to see more!
Best luck with it :)
Looking forward to seeing how this unfolds.
Good luck with the quilt project. I really love the whole process of quilting - I'v been bitten by the 'bug'in a big way. I still like to have a few things in progress at once - so don't let that stop you getting started!
Exciting sounding quilt ahead! I can't wait to see more!
I can understand why you can't get that shed out of your mind, it's adorable!
a long term project? You must be a very patient lady:)
My first time I'm playing along, though I've visited a few creative spaces in the past. I'd love to see where your project is heading! :)
Quilts are so fun and yes, they take a long time to make. So worth it though! Can't wait to see your's as it progresses.
I only got as far as 'the shed'....now off in dreamland...
Thanks honey for this blog...it's just fantastic....
I love that blog as well. That girl looks like she has such a wonderful life and has really got everything together.
Your creative space has got massive, congratulations and thanks. I really enjoy contibuting every week. xxNick
I've just decided to link for the first time. It sounds like fun. Good luck with the quilt.
I completely want that shed, even if i have no where to put it, i love it ;) thanks so much for sharing
i think your are brave even contemplating a quilt project. I started on before my 6 YO was born and it is still in the cupboard waiting to be finished.
Oooh, it's been a while since I've played, and I'm pretty late this week, but nice to be back into it!
Now, off to be inspired by all the lovely creative spaces
:-)
I am a few days late this week but better late than never I guess!
So many creative spaces this week - I am off to take a look at a few.
Karyn
Wow what a cool idea..I just ran across this today (well this evening for me). I figured why not add my work in progress to the list.
