Mulberry Granny Shrug …

May 25, 2010 45 Comments by Kirsty

Not my Granny

I had planned to make myself a grey Granny Shrug but now I’ve tried the Mulberry on I’m quite taken with it.

Not my Granny Back

This one is NOT for me but I thought you might like to see a version done in 14ply & on a life size person rather than my little twig. I’ve got another on the hook for my bossy mate. There is actually quite a list ahead of me now. So much so, that by the time I get to make my own I’m sure I won’t want one at all.

Thanks for your interest. Please know that there is now a granny shrug how to with pattern available here.

It's super lovely Kirsty. The colour looks terrific! Can't wait to make my adult version – I'm planning on two strands of Patons Jet (it's 12 ply so it will be nice and chunky with two strands) and maybe a 20mm hook! You're starting a trend, you know.

Looks great! I made a chocolate brown one for myself while we were camping; I just haven’t taken photos of it yet. I am pleased as punch, thanks you so much or the inspiration. I though making a cardi for myself was a long way off as I can’t read a pattern, but this was so easy and so satisfying. I shall let you know when I post about it, maybe for my creative space this week.

It's always the way – making things for others and never making anything for ourselves. I think you should jump the queue and keep one!

Oh wow, love it, I have spent my morning op-shopping looking for crochet patterns to do a vest, but THIS is soooo much better. Love it, totally love it. Oh by the way, no luck in op-shopping today for me, not even any wool (!) But I did score a lovely green jumper, pair of cords and a blouse, so time not totally wasted. Have a lovely weekend, and make sure you find some time to make yourself a cardi.

I’m obviously late to this party but wanted to say thanks for the inspiration. I’m working with some lovely Madeline Tosh Light merino right now, but when that’s done will definitely be going chunky!
