It's football club fundraiser time. Each year I seem to get "decorations" without putting my hand up. No surprises...I've been allocated the table centrepieces & the "Ladies Lounge". I've no idea how a ladies lounge should look but I'm using doilies, petals & a little injection of pink (to go with the pretty drinks). Naturally the budget is zero. I've exceeded budget...but not by much. My only significant expenses so far have been the fake turf & four cans of paint.
I mentioned here that I'd like to be paid to potter. I wonder if maybe I might explore DIY Events...
Super cute space from last week here.
Dashing off to "borrow" some branches from a couple of my trees.
Don't forget to pop in & add your link if you're playing along this week.

I think DIY events is a brilliant idea!! Good luck with the fundraiser.
lol at getting it allocated to you with out offering : ) Well whatever it is you are cooking up looks interesting.
That looks like a really fun project - enjoy!
The problem is, you do yourself an injustice each year - you probably do a fantastic job each time you do the decorations & people just love it too much to volunteer themselves!
I love the doilies!:-)
oowww i ♥ dollies! I hope we get to see them all finished :)
Cool, sounds like a lot of fun decorating for an event. And 'ladies lounge' sounds so plush.

ladies lounge sounds so 50s aus pub to me but what you are cooking up is looking a whole lot classier. Will we see the end result?
Anything with a doiley involved sounds good to me!
An intriguing mix of materials there - I hope you show off the end result :)
You could be onto something with your business idea...good luck with the decorations.
By the look of things so far you would nail DIY events. Certainly worth looking into.
:)

Good luck with the fundraiser :)
DIY events....sounds brilliant!
Those tables are going to look fantastic.
all those textures look amazing - I'm sure it's going to look fab!
It's funny how when someone knows that you are creative they automatically toss your name into the hat for stuff that you don't even know about :) It usually turns out to be fun though. Enjoy the fundraiser.
Ooooo looking gorgeous already - you're so very talented - they're lucky to have you - can't wait to see the finished decor! Have fun. xo
Wow - I look forward to seeing the final product!! First time joining in the creative space for me - fab idea =)

Love the vibrant green of the turf :) Have fun creating your masterpieces... I'd say there's a reason why they keep nominating you! Kx
sounds like a good annual challenge, look forward to seeing what you create
Love it Kirst as always, xt.
I reckon you are on the right track with petals and doilies, make sure you show us when it is all looking lovely.
I hope we get to see some photos of the finished products in place before the event begins!
Hmmm, ladies lounge. Don't envy you that task. Looks like you're doing well with what you have so far though. : ) Kim
now i can't imagine why those jobs automatically get allocated to you. it sounds brilliant
You'll have to post photos of the final decorations...carefully document the process for future use in DIY events!! love the fake turf...clever!
It's beanbags and Baileys Cake for me this week! :) I'll have a good look at what everyone else is up to later tonight.
Ooo I do love green and white together...so pretty and fresh...your petals are gorgeous, I;d love to see more oics of them and a little instructional on how to make them? It's my first time popping in...lovely to be here!

Oh that sound interesing!false grass and doillies...looking forward to see!I enjoyed the interview too :)Have fun x
I have a new found interest in turf. I've seen it used very affectively lately. Was it expensive & where was your source?
Oh, to be paid to potter..... what a dream!
I hope you'll share the finished project - It sounds like a great idea.
have to see the finished product. it's pretty tough sticking to a $0 budget isn't it!
love the softness of those petal and doilies - very cute! good luck...;-)
I've no bloody idea what a 'ladies lounge' should look like but I reckon yours will be pretty special.
i feel certain that you'll fill those tables with life + interest.
That sounds great - perhaps not for you because you are the poor bugger having to do it all - but it sounds great from the perspective that I just know it will look amazing and you'll be inundated with compliments from women who will see and know the great efforts you have gone to make the Ladies Lounge look homely, chic and magnificent. You must take some photos! Would love to see the results of your hard and free labour.
Oooh, I would love to see what the outcome of fake turf + doilies = !!
i sense a very successful business coming along...
xox
Yes, how can we get you paid to potter? (I think you'll have to publish a HAC book, and live off the royalties...)
As far as I'm concerned, you could NAME YOUR PRICE this weekend. Don't fancy coming up with the goods for a Paleontological Party do you?
We tried Little Owl bean Bags :-)
Good luck with the decorations
Turf and crochet... not two things I readily pair up as table decor. Can't wait to see what you do with it!
good luck with the budget - I love such projects =) Enjoy it!
I am intrigued and am really looking forward to seeing the final project completed.
Looks fantastic, cant wait to see it!

Fascinating but it's all about the faux grass?? What are you going to do with it? And if there are costumes this year, I will require photos.
x
I guess they know that everything is fine when they pick you :)
Good luck with the fundraiser! The petals look beautiful! Have fun :)
So, ah, I can already tell that your footy fundraiser nights and our footy fundraiser nights don't seem to have a lot in common... but I'd kinda prefer to go to yours!!
Good luck with the project!
Hope it was a productive day. The colours look good together.
No budget for raising budget, sounds as if it makes sense! LOL :)
love that idea!
Sounds like a great project to be involved in... enjoy!
Could you sprinkle some doilies and petals in the non-ladies-lounge area as well?
Good luck with it all.
Fake Turf and Doilies...

Can not wait til I have no 'real job', and I can spend time on giving my time and creativity to others.

I am sure the doilies will be a hit in the ladies lounge with the pretty drinks.
And the fake turf - fab idea!
I'd love to see your decorations all set up! Loved the interview! Wish I was playing along this week but I can't. I'll pop in and check out the other blogs though.
excited to see what you are making, I have been trying to come up with ideas for doilies, I cant wait to see what you do.
I love the crochet doilies - what a great idea!
Just visiting this week as I seem to have lost my oomph. The ladies lounge sounds like it could be seriously glamourous. I'm imagining something along the lines of 'Footballers Wives' but maybe I am on totally the wrong track.
Have fun with your creating.
Fiona x
oh that looks great, the doilies and the vintage feeling of those, it is definitely going to be good event if decorated by such a creative lady :)

Awesome game, this! I came over from Artmind, etc.

it's that time of year here too. lots of fun with the fundraiser.
Hope the "borrowing" of branches went well.
I too, believe, an iron is only required for sewing/crafting.
My 90 year old (step-)Nana irons everything - insane.
Oh how I would love to see a big reveal photo of the finished work. Very intriguing notions! Lisa x
Your site is fabulous and full of such creative work. I will definitely visit again. Nilly
oooo! sounds good, I love doilies at the moment - used A LOT for my daughter cupcake tea party last weekend. Love visiting here and have finally got brave enough to link up (even if Im a day late!!)
Those doilies really are the cutest.. I wish I could crochet that neatly.. not that i've tried mind ;) Love your photo and I hope the event is fun!
