Hidden treasure…

Loveliness from The Mill

Just a bit of Monday eye candy really.

Isn’t it beautiful? I picked it up at The Mill a while ago & it’s just full of gorgeous supplies. My favourite treasure inside is the black & white stripey Myer bag which is filled with cut ribbon. It’s a long time since anything from Myer came in a striped paper bag & I’m sure I can’t remember anyone I know buying haberdashery from them.

Our weekend was relatively lazy – I can feel spring in the air & I’m thrilled about it.  The Big Girl finished The Kite Runner on Saturday & the two of us sobbed our way through the movie yesterday.

Hoping that you had a fabulous weekend.

What a great find… I remember going to the haberdashery section in Myer and being sad when they closed it.

I love going through stashes like this, I have a few old sewing machines and sewing cabinets that I have obtained over the years and each one has had a stash of old bits and pieces, it's fascinating going through them.

    Have a fabulous week.

I had a sewing basket like this one when I was little. It was white and blue, I had completely forgotten about it. I wish I had kept it!

Love your old sewing basket, I've got a sweet old one my boy bought me, and I really love the pink tape measure!

Beautiful ribbons….that's what I remember about Myer. I still have some of mine from when I was a lass. Lisa x

The Kite Runner is one of my favourite books and I thought the film was excellent. I nearly didn't go to see it because I'm always scared they will ruin a good book when they make it into a film but I loved this one. The next book A Thousand Splendid Suns is a cracker. So sad on so many levels.

That's a pretty full-on book for your big girl (how old is she?) to read. I sobbed too … through the book and the movie!!

Hooray for 'nearly Spring' weather and hidden treasures!!

Oh, Kirsty, I love it. I need a grown-up one like that. I am using the Bambi one my godmother gave me when I turned 10 – time for an update! J x

How special that sewing basket is. I love to find old trims and notions too, they always smell so musty and soothing like a friendly old Nan. How special too to share some tears and words with your daughter, and then the movie too. Sweet post x

My first curtains came from the Habby section at Myers – they were preceeded (apparently) by a 3 year old temper tantrum as I desperately wanted the fabric. Dad replied I could have it if I named every animal on it…which I did!

A stunning little find. I am off to see if my library has the Kite Runner today… this is the second time I've heard it mentioned in two days by reputable sources so it's obviously a must. xx
