The hanger challenge…
It will come as no great surprise to anybody to hear that I’ve been inspired by something I saw & read over at the house of Rummage.
I love any kind of craft that uses “waste” material. So it’s with great enthusiasm that I’m approaching my hanger challenge. I’m aiming for a hanger a day next week & thought you might be inspired too. If you think you might like to have a crack too then just join the flickr group here.
The only rule is that you must cover a wire hanger…any way you like. Please don’t cover fancy wooden ones. This is all about turning something ugly into something not ugly.
Edit: You only have to make 1 to play along but I’m aiming for 5. x

ps : is that necessarily 7 or a couple of ones is just fine for a challenge ? (because i’ll be busy with real life & not sure i can keep up with one a day !)

Oooh tempting. Wire coat hangers seem to breed in my cupboard. I swear I’ve never bought any. Home with sick kidlets and rain today … just might lend itself to some coat hanger crafter-y.

i remember these. my nanna has gazillions of them. if i can rummage (no pun intended) around and find a wire hanger (i don’t think we have any) i’m in.
noteworthy note- i guess it would be wrong to buy wire hangers?

Ooohhh, love it. I’ve been dreaming of covered hangers for ages now {I know, crazy exotic life I lead…} and as an ex wardrobe mistress, I have gazillions{ real amount} of wire hangers to play with…x

Inspired … have already had an initial crack this morning (http://yardagegirl.blogspot.com/2011/04/inspired-hanger-challenge.html). When I find my flickr password, I’ll upload a pic! Thanks for the great idea.

I was instantly inspired by Nic’s attempt this morning to do one, but I am perhaps the only person in the history of the world without any wire coat hangers (Where do you people get so many from? The Dry cleaners? That might explain why I don’t have any… and why I look like a hobo.), so I made do with an ugly plastic one I had. I shall refrain from adding it to the flickr group, but if you’re interested; http://punkysmamma.blogspot.com/2011/04/copy-cat.html

Ooh, I love this idea! We need to do a wardrobe clearout soon, so I might get a head start and see what I can come up with.

You are all fantastically creative, I just stopped by and had to say it. I look at a hanger and absolutely nothing occurs to me. Unable to embellish such items as I am, I would tend to dispose of them. This site sets an example to me. Thank you!

Hee hee hee! I’ve been wanting a good excuse to crack the old wire hangers out and play with them! I’d better go and make a flicker account.
