For yarn & a mate…

June 15, 2011 20 Comments by Kirsty

It’s a long & boring back story…

Unsurprisingly it involved an op shop & something made by a Nanna I picked up & pondered & purchased & then working out what the item in question actually was & then figuring out how to HAC my own. Then I procrastinated for I dunno…about a year! Finally over the weekend this image popped up on Flickr. Thanks Tam.

So I got out the stashed supplies from previous brainstorming sessions & actually made the thing. It’s just an incredibly useful item really. The ball of yarn can roll freely around inside the bowl & it’s protected from dust or cookie crumbs or fairy sparkles or whatever else might be on your floors. The work in progress can be stored and toted around in the little bag too. A must have for any yarny types I think.

Already gifted…because she asked so nicely.

Brilliance. It’s always knitting while watching the kids at swimming where I come (catastrophically) undone…

What a great idea! Much more streamlined than the tote bag I use!

That’s an amazing idea… and I guess the work can be stored inside if it’s small enough. And the crochet edgings are so pretty – the colour is lovely.

PS. apologies for linking twice today – I hit the wrong button and managed to post to Our Creative Spaces without an image. If it can be deleted it’s no. 98 that needs to go!!

      Hi Mandy

I don’t know of anywhere in Sydney but YouTube is an excellent resource. I just paused & played until I got it.

      Good luck.
