It’s crochet time…
Nothing surprising here folks…I’ve been at it with the teeny hook again.
Usually I don’t find the small scale too much of a challenge but this effort did nearly blind me.
See that Timex face? It’s just the same as the one I got for my 9th birthday! I was super excited when I saw it in the op shop/thrift store. The original band was canvas (& very scratchy) so I hooked myself up this little pop of red.
I riffled through the button stash & found a cute little buckle that was just the right size.
It all came together pretty well & I think I like the red crochet band even more than the faux croc skin one on my original Timex.
PS: You’ll notice my artful use of blur here…that’s because my sister told me that she’s alarmed at how old my hands are looking…easy fixed. x

Great band, you are so clever with crochet, as evidenced in my lovely wrist cuff – thanks for your comment on my blog recently
And hands… yes, I remember looking at my mother’s and grandmother’s as a teenager and thinking ‘well, that’s not going to happen to mine!’ ha ha, of course it is happening!

I’m with Tan…but I will need to cover my forehead which is looking alarmingly more and more like my Dad’s with every tick of the clock.
Lovely re-work.

I really like this – especially the back story. I still have every watch I’ve ever owned. Makes me want to “reinvent” them too.
P.S. Your hands look fantastic compared to mine!

Such a great project! And they’re not old-looking hands–they’re “making” hands.

OH it looks fantastic, colour & everything. Only a sister would comment on old looking hands, anything my sister says to me that is negative, i can remind her she’s my MUCH older (by 3 years) sister. Love Posie

My sister saw this post and LOVED it. She immediately asked me to make her a watch band just like it for her old watch face. Do you have a pattern you could share?

Hey Beth,
I just chained until it looked the right length to wrap around my wrist & then AU/British dc’d back & forth for about 10 rows.
Good luck.

I noticed that this is an older post,
i was wondering if you have a pattern for this, or if not what size thread or yarn and crochet hook you might’ve used?
I also have a favorite watch, but never have liked the watchband it’s attached to. It’s one of of those nylon web styled one with a velcro closure that sticks to the cuff o long sleeved knits.
Thank you in advance for any helpful hints you might have !
