Knitting & noting…
Hello!
The house is set to be auctioned on Saturday…gawd that crept up quickly. I’ve been feeling a little anxious to say the least. In an attempt to allay the nerves I’ve been keeping busy with the giant hook project that I started last week and also a bit of light relief making cord with dear old knitting Nancy. She’s been working hard for me as I revisit my hanger project.
I’m determined this time and am really knuckling down and working hard. I am hoping to crack 20 by Christmas. Do you think I can do it? OR will it be like the flaming granny squares…continuous breaking of that rule/goal has done nothing for my self esteem.
I’ve also been killing time making plans for the new kitchen. I’ve got to tart that place up on a zero budget & I’ve got some great ideas from today’s post on JustB.
You can see more creative spaces right here.

That knitting Nancy is going to make a great hanger cover!
Gosh – an auction must be so nerve wracking to go through, but hopefully good in the end! Kitchen reno on a zero budget sounds challenging – can’t wait to see what you guys do!x

Thank you Jennie. Hopefully everything will work out OK. I’m pretty excited about “the house of fun”.

Your photo’s inspire me, you turn everyday things into art works, so a kitchen will be a sinch!

Thanks – the Nancy is functional but sadly the camera is not.

Hi there, thanks for the kitchen inspirations. I too am just about to put the city house on the market for a rural retreat and a rural house that is just plain dull and a kitchen that will need these ideas. Staying busy is always good. Thank you and good luck!

I know what you mean about granny square and constantly shifting the goal posts ever further out. It’s been two Lents in a row where I have sworn to do a square a day for 40 days and nights… yeah, well, that blanket is still very much a work in progress. So pleased that I’m not alone.

Love your knitting Nancy – she’s just like mine (or should I say, like mine was, I have no idea where she’s resting just now).
Good luck with the new place. I love your kitchen ideas. I tarted up my first kitchen with paint over the laminate doors (you need to treat the surface first), and they provided a colour boost and serviceable finish until I could afford to replace the lot.
When I did get a new kitchen I found that the factory had a stash of seconds/incorrectly cut benchtops which they were selling off cheap, and on our next renovation I managed to get a laundry benchtop from their pile.
