Progress is my middle name…
It’s slow going … no wonder macrame creations cost a bomb! This sucker is going to be worth a mint when it’s finished. Calculated at my employable rate you’d be staring down the barrel of a thousand bucks. I wouldn’t pay that for a knotted anything! BUT if you calculate on my usual rate for crafted creations, (less than 2 cents per hour) it will probably come in at about $100 which I’d totally pay.
You can read all about the family history of macrame and spice ropes and our holiday when we knotted and potted over here. See you there.
Now I’ve got to smash out a few more knots. I’m determined to get this finished by the weekend.

It looks amazing! Loving the neon pink (of course) and quite gob-smacked at the time/effort involved. I’m working on a collaboration with Pippa from Ouchflower at the moment where I’m printing fabric and she’s going to add a macrame trim… I actually had no idea that her half of the project was going to be infinitely more work than mine!
oops. Thanks for the info

I know. It takes an incredibly long, long time. I have been making friendship bracelets for an overseas aid project and I was never so grateful when I was shown a really cool, really fast way to whip those bracelets into shape.
I have some great macrame hangers – all bought from op shops for, and you won’t believe this, about $2 a pop.

SNAP! I’ve been researching neon macrame for an upcoming Brown Owls. Neon just makes macrame all the more palatable…nerry a brown bead in sight! Great work on the lamp….I love it!
