Is the grass greener…

collection_038_2012_01_29

took the boy for his checkup
& said goodbye to his specs!
drove down the road
& had melbourne’s best brew
sent the boys off to the tennis
& spent the night on the lounge
thought lots about being a wife
& what that really means
wondered about another time & place
& if in fact the grass was greener
cross stitched the monograms
& sent them out to the crew
drank lemon, lime & bitters
& taught the little guy to make them
went to the market
& bought lots of fresh & green
spent time in the kitchen
& prepared for a new school year
went out for japanese
& had a great time
watched the little guy & his mates
& caught up with the school crew
climbed the 1000 steps with the boy
& allowed myself to be pushed by my pride
saved an orphaned possum
& pottered around at Camby market

Homemade yoghurt…

homemade yoghurt

I scored a Decor Dairyo at the op shop a few weeks back. It was still in the box & came with a thermometer & a lovely note from the tennis club congratulating me on my raffle win!

I had a couple of fails because once I located the original Dairyo instruction manual online I only read the words “shortcut for next day yoghurt”. Surely by now I’d have figured out that the go slow always yields the best results.

I did a bit more internet trawling & found this most excellent site which outlines exactly how to make your own yoghurt. I had another crack following the recipe from the Dairyo for quantity & the methodology of make your own yoghurt…SUCCESS! It’s delicious.

Pictured here with Piknik muesli also delicious.

Have a fabulous weekend folks.

Domestic duties…

collection_037_2012_01_22

bought new shoes for school
& named all the books
took a ride in a truck
& helped Dad unpack
opened a flat pack
& did my head in with the tools
sent the little guy to the movies
& we paid the price in the wash
had a clever click house guest
& ate breakfast out
pulled apart more old lenses
& made a macro lens how to
thought all about features
& how a small change might not be
made a mess in the kitchen
& uploaded my pic
hung the toasties
& found a kindred toastie spirit
got handy with the squeegee
& washed the windows & doors
walked the city lanes
& learned a fair bit

Claiming it…

I know there is some question as to whether The Pav originated in Australia or New Zealand. Regardless of which country is the rightful owner, the dessert has become an iconic Australian sweet & features at just about every suburban BBQ this time of year.

So…I thought it most appropriate as my photograph for the Canon Island challenge this week. You can vote for the image that takes your fancy right here if you feel so inclined.

I also thought that you might get a kick out of the set up too … nothing spontaneous about this shot.

Baked beans…almost as iconic as the pav.

On the go slow…

collection_036_2012_01_15

spent the week in town
& enjoyed the slow pace
took the kids to the city
& bought shorts for big Miss
tidied and sorted the house
& uneartherd a few treasures
spent a day loading apps
& cross stitching tech style
bought a cloth at the oppy
& chained a refashion
stopped in at the antiquey
& bought chairs for a mate
…spotted something I loved
& went back the next day
had the eyebrows shaped
& looked 100% better
rode to the farmer’s market
& bought eggs from Kate
sampled some chocolate
& HAD to buy that
drove down to Tyabb
& picked up some slides
did a favour for the bride
& ate fig pide at St Kats
