The final cut…

the final cut

Finally…there’s no more to be done.

Of course I couldn’t resist a little bit of something special with the offcuts & actually I think it’s a rather nice representation. The whole being greater than the sum of it’s parts & all that.

It’s in the hands of the click gods now…D Day is tomorrow.

I might pop in tomoz or I might not. Thanks for hanging in while I’ve been so absent. x

The discard pile…

along the road

from my home stretch doll quilt stitching last night.

I love these little moments along the way & need to get back to noticing those more…that’s what it’s all about after all.

I’ve just got to bind the sucker & then I’m done.

Noticing – empathy…

I run through at least four spider webs each morning on the run.

As I peeled the sticky silk away from my eyes and mouth the other morning I thought like a spider. I thought how devastated I would be if I’d spent hours & hours creating something as beautiful as a web only to have it ruined in a second.

I’m trying to be more careful on the run now & if I can, avoid the webs & admire their beauty.

PS: If you’re not thingy about spiders you might want to have a look at the other pics I took of the Golden Orb we’ve been admiring.

Noticing – the end…

Much as I love the school holidays & having the kids around full time & wish that I had the patience to be a homeschoolingcountrylivinglowfi mama, I do need routine. It keeps me on track.

I’m soaking up the last few days of kidness & hoping the return to school & life might signal the return of my creative me.

Noticing – challenge…

I’m without a car for a couple of weeks.

I’ve noticed just how much I rely on the car.  Today I walked and caught the tram into the city with the girls for a doctor’s appointment and then rode my bike to visit my sister…I’m shattered.

Much as I love living in the leafy green suburbs (where not even a coffee is walking distance) today would have been much easier if I lived in Fitzroy.

This map is from an old street directory picked up at the Camberwell market yesterday – so good!
