It’s really just a question of taste…

wrapped lampshade | #mycreativespace

I’m not sure about this one at all.

I began enthusiastically, wrapped a few rounds and then stepped back. The thing looked absolutely ghastly! I’ve persevered and now it’s done I kind of like it from a distance and the smalls think it looks great. I’m yet to be convinced. I need to sit with it a couple of days I think.

I don’t have enough of the spool knitted cord to cover the other arm of the lamp so if I do decide I can live with it I’ve no idea what to do with it’s twin. I guess I could scour the Op Shop for more beastly yarn but really…would you?

I dunno…thoughts on this one most welcome.

And another thing…

I spent some time with lovely Lamina a couple of weeks ago. Check that out here.

See what the other creative spacers have been up to right here.

At the op shop this morning…

I’m without a car at the moment but that meant I had to do a bit of walking to & fro the shops this morning. Just look what I picked up at the Salvos…with Kate firmly on my mind.

Happy weekend folks.

3′s a collection…

These guys remind me of camping at Robinvale & Sunday nights in front of Disney. Oh how I loved a toasted sanga.

Every weekend without fail I had peanut butter & banana … don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it.

I’ve been scouting these for a while but honestly most of the irons I see are pretty manky inside so my collection is growing rather more slowly that I’d like.

I’m actually planning some making tomorrow … please lift your jaw off the floor.

See you then.

Putting it out there…

I’m normally a very casual kind of op shopper/thrifter. I just pick things up that take my fancy. I don’t think you can be too attached to purchasing (for example) a mint condition sunbeam mix master by next week & not be disappointed.

But every now & then I send some good fortune vibe out & just keep my fingers casually crossed & my poker face on…

Last Friday was such an occasion. I’ve been collecting vintage towels for quite some time now & figured a beaten up old laundry trolley would be perfect for beside the pool storage of said towels.

I got lucky! Just need to put some not-too-shabby-washing-basket vibe out there now.

We forgot to turn the spa off last night so the kids enjoyed a spa before school…nice.

Skip a beat shopping…

If you shop at op shops or thrift stores or markets you know the heart-stopping-eyes-wide-afraid-to-breathe feeling when you find something you never knew you needed.

I know that velvet paintings are polarising & I confess for the most part I find them a little too much, but not this little guy. Everything’s just perfect…the detail, the colour, the frame.

I did need this velvet painting…& now I’m thinking I need a few more.
