Tripod shelving…

Tripod storage

Our house was built to a budget. When It came to the fixtures we went with “bare minimum”. Who knew that meant you’d only get one towel rail in the bathroom? And such an expanse of plain white wall – we can’t have that!

I’ve been hanging my towel in the bedroom for far too long now &. The other day I made a trip to Bunnings and set to work refashioning my op shopped tripods into something more.

I just drilled a hole in the centre of some op shopped placemats to make the shelves and then secured them with a 1/4inch nut.   The towel hanger is of course an a broken film SLR which unsurprisingly required no DIY intervention by me.  I’d had that lying around since the camera lamp makings last year.

Just a bit of fun really.

A long time dead…

Harry Smith and cat

I know you know I’ve got an inquiring mind so I’m not going to apologise for the above pic (or it’s total lack of relevance to anything crafty).

I’m wondering a lot about the leaving of flowers at graves…

My reading tells me it’s a hangover from before there were proper embalming techniques…it was to mask the smell.

I’m wondering further about the leaving of artificial flowers…

I have no real experience…those who’ve been close to me & died have all been cremated.

If you have some thoughts on flowers being left at graves please share & if you think I’ve completely lost the plot…I understand & can I also tell you I’ve been thinking a lot about blue things & nannas (which is a lot more crafty) but I haven’t got the click out yet.

Snoop my stuff…

Lot’s of stuff for you to poke through here. I wonder what it reveals about me & the crew? Plenty I guess.

If you want to play iSpy you can take a closer look at the pic here.

General observations…

i like red
i like junk
i like coffee
i make stuff

but you knew all that already!

Further observations…

jamie oliver is where it’s at “whack that in, toss that, bang that there”… i love his attitude
my kids are growing up … quite a few books on that & how to parent
I’m not just about the look … much of the stuff on these shelves is in daily use.
i’m lazy … the date on the apple calendar is Mon 10 APR OCT.
i’m into nostalgia.
i like grey lead pencil.
the dog’s on sentinel.
ikea for inspiration!

There’s probably heaps more you can read into this if you can be bothered.

Are you keen for us to snoop your stuff? Pop in & add your link if you’ve got a pic to share.

PS: Does anyone know why these pic links are so small? MOST annoying.

On my desk…

today is:

apple fabric from Brooke
& redwork from Jess. Just because presents are the very best kind – thank you lovely, lovely girls.
